Our History

OUR STORY

HOPE Outreach Ministries was established on April 12, 2003. The vision and name were given by divine inspiration to Minister Linda F. Simpson in January 2003. During a significant time of illness, Linda was often awakened by God with visions of ministries. She began to write the visions down, but never imagine it was for her to accomplish. She did not understand or comprehend that God was speaking directly into her life.

It was only through prayers that God gave her clarity and understanding of the visions. After giving her the name of the ministry, she became genuinely committed and dedicated to the mission. With much prayer and supplication, Linda implemented God’s plan. She met with Evangelist Georgette Boulware, Wyonia T. Hinton, Daisy C. Wylie, and Minister Lucille C. Mackey. She shared the vision with them, and through prayers, instructions, and guidance from God, they became part of the vision and ministry.

A Grand Opening Praise Celebration and Benefit was held on June 20-22, 2003. The three-day event was held in the parking lot of Currence Plaza in Chester, South Carolina, where the first location of HOPE Outreach Ministries was established. The building was completely empty, but God said, “Walk by Faith, Not by Sight.” Out of obedience and trust in God, we moved forward by faith and were truly blessed!

Through the love and support of our families, friends, and many others within the community, we could renovation the office spaces to accommodate our needs. We received office furniture, chairs, and counters. We donated computers from the Chester School District for the Homework Center. Mrs. Mary Jones and Mrs. Tawanna Davis bought chairs, fifty (50). They blessed us to begin our tutoring program with Mrs. Brenda Bradley from the Chester County School District, along with Ms. Wyonia Hinton serving as our instructors.

HOPE officially opened its doors on August 8, 2003. We held a Dedication Service on August 9, 2003: to give back to God, what he had given to us. On February 25,2004, we received our Charter and later received the 501(c)3 non-profit status on April 16, 2004. To God be the Glory!

Our first officers were: Linda Simpson, President, Georgette Boulware, V. President, Daisy Wylie, Secretary, Wyonia Hinton, Treasurer, and Lucille Mackey, Chaplin.

We have provided an array of services to the community of Chester County and surrounding communities. We have also traveled and supported Foreign Missions. We have sent ministry aide to Sanatorium Segneau Hospital and School in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. Nun Evelyn Moliney was the recipient of the food items, medical and school supplies on four different occasions from 2011-2013, before their closure. We are currently partnering with Kingdom Covenant Missions International (KCMI) with Bishop Alfred Jackson. Linda has traveled to Liberia, Ghana, and Guinea in West Africa. KCMI sends ministry aides to Churches, Girls’ schools, and The Village Orphanage in Buchanan. We give many other aides throughout the year. Having the heart for Missions also, Georgette has taken part in five mission trips to the county of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean. We have also supported domestic missions, as related to local community projects, and on a larger scale, taking part in emergency relief efforts in disaster-affected areas.
